- A Pele e o Pano
Nesse grupo de pinturas eu retirei afigura do seu contexto tradicional e me concentrei no que realmente meinteressa, que é a própria figura em si.
Revendominha tragetória, sinto que essa série evoluiu em direção à simplicidade. Semas distrações e limitações de um “lugar”, as pinturas ficaram mais simples,mais diretas. O uso do tecido foi inicialmente um acidente, mas suas estampas,texturas e infinitas possibilidades fizeram sentido nesse ambientepredominantemente feminino.
Sintoque esse trabalho é um marco de uma longa jornada com o foco na essência do queeu quero expressar, o resultado do difícil processo de descartar a tudo o quenão faz parte dessa essência para que ela possa se revelar com mais clareza e força.
Flesh and Fabric
In this group of paintings I have removedthe figure from it's traditional figurative environment and focused on what Iam really interested in, which is the figure itself.
Lookingback at my trajectory, I feel this work has evolved toward simplicity. Withoutthe distractions and limitations of a “place” around the figures, the paintingsgo straight to the point. The use of fabric was initially an accident, but it’spatterns, textures and infinite possibilities made sense in this mostlyfeminine environment.
Ifeel this work is a milestone in a long journey of focus on the essence of whatI want to express, the result of letting everything else go so that this essencecan reveal itself clearly.
